Tech and appliances are where a small percentage turns into real money, because the prices are high. The biggest electrical retailers all work with Blue Light Card in one form or another, while the device makers are more mixed, and Apple and Amazon have no member deal at all.
Retailers With Member Codes
Currys gives Blue Light Card members a discount code and discounted Shopping Cards, although the cards cannot be used to buy iPhones. AO has a member code for online orders, listed as £25 off large appliances over £549, and Blue Light Card has also listed £20 off selected laptops at Laptops Direct.
Gift Cards Below Face Value
John Lewis Shopping Cards are sold at a discount and can be paid on top of a price matched under its Never Knowingly Undersold promise, and Argos cards, along with Habitat cards that also spend at Argos, are available the same way. Because a card counts as payment, it still applies to sale prices.
Buying From the Brand
Samsung offers up to 20% through a member store reached from Blue Light Card, though checking the final price against Samsung’s public store first is sensible. Apple has no direct Blue Light Card partnership, so Apple products come through partner retailers such as Currys and John Lewis, and Amazon offers NHS staff nothing beyond its normal prices.
Phones and SIM only plans are covered under mobile and broadband, and every other category is on the NHS Discounts hub.
