Cheaper Vue tickets reach Blue Light Card members via Service Seats, the card’s dedicated cinema portal, rather than through a code typed in at the Vue checkout. Voucher codes for tickets or for drink and popcorn combos are bought there and then used on Vue’s site, and Blue Light Card says the discounts are usually valid for online bookings only.
Checking the Voucher Against Vue’s Own Price
A voucher only saves money if it costs less than the ticket it replaces. Vue’s prices vary by cinema, time and screen, and its Mighty Mornings sessions at 10am have started at £2.49 a person when booked online, well below the cost of a voucher. Some Service Seats customers have reported paying more than the cinema’s own price once seat upgrades or fees were added, so comparing the voucher with the price on Vue’s website for the chosen showing is what decides whether it is a saving.
Snacks
Snack prices do not change from one session to the next the way ticket prices do, so a discounted drink and popcorn combo voucher is easier to judge than a ticket voucher, and on a family trip the snack bill can be as large as the tickets.
ODEON and Cineworld also use Service Seats, and both add discounted memberships to their ticket offers.
