Nando’s gives NHS staff 20% off, along with police, fire and ambulance workers, but the reduction is smaller than the headline suggests. It applies only to the cardholder’s own order up to £20, so the most it can save is £4, and it can be used once a day.
How to Claim It
In the restaurant, a valid photocard ID has to be shown before paying, and Nando’s suggests showing it before ordering. For orders placed at the table or for collection through the app, the account picks up the discount once an NHS email address is verified, and that check has to be repeated every six months. Delivery orders, including those through Deliveroo, are excluded.
Earning Chillies Alongside It
An order carrying the discount still earns chillies on the Nando’s loyalty scheme, provided the total after the reduction clears the minimum spend, so a regular can save on the bill and build towards a free meal on the same visit.
Some chains tie their key worker saving to a Blue Light Card rather than an NHS ID, such as Starbucks, which takes 10% off the bill when the card is shown at the till.
