Costa Coffee does not offer a permanent NHS discount. There is no key worker scheme on the Costa app or website, and no standing partnership with Blue Light Card or Health Service Discounts at the time of writing. The Costa Club loyalty scheme is open to all customers and is the main route to savings for NHS staff who visit Costa regularly.
Does Costa Offer an NHS Discount?
There is no permanent NHS or Blue Light Card discount at Costa Coffee. During the height of the pandemic, Costa offered free hot drinks to NHS staff at certain locations, but this was a temporary measure and has not continued as a standing scheme. NHS ID carries no benefit at the Costa till at the time of writing.
Costa Club Loyalty Scheme
The Costa Club app gives customers one stamp per qualifying purchase, with a free drink unlocked at various stamp thresholds. Members also receive a free birthday drink each year and access to app-exclusive offers that are not available to non-members. The Costa Club is free to join through the app and earns on both in-store and drive-through orders when the app is scanned at payment.
Costa also runs limited-time promotional offers through the app, including discounted seasonal drinks and bundle deals on food and coffee combinations. These are announced through app notifications, making it worth enabling alerts if Costa is a regular stop during a shift.
Costa Subscription
Costa offers a coffee subscription through the app for a flat monthly fee, giving subscribers up to five selected hot drinks per day at a significant reduction on the standard over-the-counter price. For NHS staff who visit Costa daily or multiple times per shift, the subscription can pay for itself within a few visits each month and represents a more consistent saving than waiting for promotional offers.
