Blue Light Card holders can take up to 7% off at Halfords, in its shops and on its website, with some exclusions, and the larger savings are on servicing. According to Halfords’ own help centre, members get 10% off servicing, a free MOT when it is booked with a full or major service, and 5% off repairs.
Where the Discount Goes Furthest
On products the 7% is a modest reduction, so for a bike or a car accessory a Halfords sale price may do more. Servicing is different: booking a full service with the MOT included removes the MOT cost altogether, and the legal maximum fee for a car MOT is £54.85, which on its own can outweigh the 10% off the service itself.
Cycle to Work
Many NHS trusts offer a Cycle to Work salary sacrifice scheme, which spreads the cost of a bike through pay with tax savings, and Halfords runs its own Cycle2Work scheme for employers. Which provider applies depends on the trust, so the staff benefits page is the first place to check before buying a bike outright.
