Blue Light Card does list Premier Inn, but the offer is for Premier Inn At Home, the online shop selling the beds, mattresses and bedding used in its hotels, rather than for hotel rooms. Room bookings carry no NHS rate and no Blue Light Card reduction, so an NHS worker booking a stay pays the same prices as any other guest, and the savings come from how and when the room is booked.

Choosing the Right Rate
Premier Inn sells rooms at several rate levels with different cancellation terms. Flex is the most expensive and the most forgiving, with payment now or on arrival and free cancellation up to 1pm on the day of arrival. Semi-Flex refunds up to three full days before arrival and Advance up to 28 days before. Standard rate rooms cannot be refunded but can be moved to another date at the same hotel, and Non-Flex cannot be changed at all.
The gap between the top and bottom of that ladder is where the real saving sits. Premier Inn’s own promotional terms have quoted savings of up to 30% on Standard rate rooms booked at least 14 days ahead compared with Flex, and the company says its lowest prices are generally found well in advance rather than close to the stay. For someone working a fixed rota, a non-refundable rate booked early is the cheapest legitimate way into a room, while for anyone whose plans could change, the extra paid for Flex works as insurance against losing the whole booking.
Food at the Hotel Restaurants
Many Premier Inn hotels sit beside a pub restaurant run by its parent company Whitbread, such as a Beefeater or Brewers Fayre, and those restaurants have offered cardholders 25% off food from the main menu when the card is shown before ordering. That is the one part of a Premier Inn stay where the card can cut the bill, although the reduction applies to the restaurant, not the room.
Booking for Work
Staff travelling on NHS business are better off checking how their trust arranges accommodation before paying personally. Premier Inn runs a free Business Booker tool for organisations, with a Business Flex rate discounted against the ordinary Flex rate, and many employers prefer to book through their own travel arrangements rather than reimburse personal bookings.
Among hotel groups, Hilton is one that gives Blue Light Card members a discount code on room bookings. Travelodge prices rooms much like Premier Inn, with cheaper non-refundable Saver rates that can be amended for a fee, and the wider set of hotel and holiday brands is covered in the holidays and travel section.
